Those born with their nakshatra as ashwini nakshatra, moola nakshatra, makha nakshatra, revathy nakshatra, jyestha nakshatra need to perform nakshatra dosha nivarana puja to remove the ill effects the nakshatra causes for their own development as well as the development of their family members.
Pooja is performed to the nakshatra adhipati graha on the day of the janma nakshatra.
