Which Vedic calculator should I use?
Start from the question you have. Each calculator below answers one, and each links on to the next logical step, so you can follow a chart from your birth star to the planets, the dasha and the transit running now.
| Your question | Calculator | What you need |
|---|---|---|
| Which star and Moon sign was I born under? | Janma Nakshatra Calculator | Date, time, place |
| What is my Rashi? | Rashi Calculator | Date, time, place |
| What is my rising sign? | Lagna Calculator | Exact time, place |
| Where do all nine planets sit in my kundli? | Free Kundli and Birth Chart | Date, place, time optional |

Birth chart calculators
These six use your birth date, time and place to calculate the positions in your own chart. The kundli page is the fullest, and the others each focus on one part of it.
Marriage matching and dosha calculators
Matching tools take both partners’ details. They use the Moon sign and nakshatra, and show the reason for every result so a reader can check it.
Transit, daily and panchang calculators
These look at the sky as it is now. Sade Sati compares Saturn’s present sign with your Moon sign, and the panchang pages work out tithi, nakshatra and the inauspicious periods for your city.
Pooja day calendars
Ekadashi, Amavasya, Pradosham and Sankashti dates for 2026 and 2027, with exact tithi start and end times and a calculator for your own city.
Planet sign calculators
Want to know where a single graha stood at your birth? Each page gives the sign, degree, nakshatra, pada, retrograde status and house, with a short reading guide for that planet.
Why do Vedic calculators give a different sign from Western ones?
Western astrology measures the zodiac from the March equinox, which drifts against the stars. Vedic astrology fixes it to the stars. The gap is the ayanamsha, about 24 degrees 14 minutes in late 2026, so planets usually fall one sign earlier in a Vedic chart.
Vedic astrology calculators on Poojas.in use Lahiri ayanamsha
Lahiri, also called Chitrapaksha, is the standard adopted by the Government of India for the national calendar and used by most Indian panchangs. If a result here differs from a Western chart, the zodiac, not an error, is the reason.
How accurate are these calculators?
Planet positions are computed astronomically from your birth moment and agreed with an independent reference to within about half an arcminute. For Bengaluru on 2 November 2026 the panchang’s tithi, nakshatra and Rahu Kalam matched Drik Panchang to the minute, and sunrise and sunset to within one minute.
Birth time is converted using the historical time zone of your birth city, including daylight saving, rather than a fixed offset. Rahu and Ketu use the mean node, houses are whole-sign, and dasha years are 365.25 days. Your details are calculated in your browser, so they are not sent to or stored by Poojas.in unless you choose to send a result on WhatsApp. The calculators give positions and counts. Reading them for a person needs the full chart, which is what a consultation is for.

Vedic Astrology Calculators: Frequently Asked Questions
What are Vedic astrology calculators?
Vedic astrology calculators find positions and periods in the Jyotisha system. They use the sidereal zodiac with Lahiri ayanamsha, and cover things like your birth nakshatra, Lagna, dasha, planet signs, Sade Sati status and panchang.
Are the Vedic calculators on Poojas.in free?
Yes. All of the calculators are free, need no sign-up and run in your browser. A consultation with Dr. Mekhala is a separate paid service if you want your chart read.
Do I need my exact birth time?
For the Lagna, the dasha and the Mangal Dosha check, yes. For the Moon sign, nakshatra and planet signs, the date and place are usually enough, and each calculator tells you when the missing time could change the answer.
Why do Vedic calculators show a different sign from my Western horoscope?
Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac, about 24 degrees behind the tropical zodiac used in Western astrology. Most planets therefore fall one sign earlier in a Vedic chart.
Which ayanamsha do these calculators use?
They use Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsha, the standard of the Government of India and most Indian panchangs.
Can a calculator replace an astrologer?
No. A calculator gives accurate positions and counts. Reading them for a person needs the whole chart, the running dasha and judgement, which is why a consultation with a qualified Jyotishi is recommended before any remedy.
Want your chart read by Dr. Mekhala?
The calculators give you accurate positions. A consultation explains what they mean for you and what, if anything, to do about it.
